Happy New Year, Colorado Small Business Community!

With every new year come opportunities to not only look back at the blessings we received last year, but also to look forward to fresh starts and new challenges. Looking back, in the SBA Colorado District Office we had a wonderful and successful FY 2016, having exceeded all expectations in our SBA loan and contracting activities. We applaud all of the outstanding mentoring, counseling and training conducted by our SBA Resource and Strategic Partners.

There have been some changes to our team, and we will be introducing you to new members in future issues. But for today, I want to especially thank three very critical members of the SBA Family that have or will be departing: Betsy Markey, Region VIII Administrator; John Hart, Region VIII Advocate; and Edward Cadena, District Director.

Thank you Region VIII Betsy Markey for your service, overseeing the delivery of the SBA’s small business programs and services in Colorado, North Dakota, Montana, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming.

Edward Cadena

Congratulations to former District Director Edward J. Cadena on your retirement, and thank you for your support of Colorado entrepreneurs and small businesses.

By almost all accounts and many economic indicators, it was truly a great year to be a small business in Colorado. Looking forward, in 2017 we will continue to strive to be the SBA, that is always Smart, Bold and Accessible. The SBA Colorado District Office doors are always open to you, and we look forward to seeing or hearing from you in the coming year.
